Full-mouth reconstruction with Dr. Peterson is dependent on the requirements of each patient’s specific treatment plan. Considering the nature of the procedure, this can be a rather involved commitment. Proper and effective repairs take time. Dr. Peterson discusses the details of each treatment plan during consultations after careful planning. After this planning, some patients have only two main appointments. One to remove old dental restorations and cavities, and another to install their beautiful new smile. For some patients, a full mouth reconstruction may take months to complete.
No! Full mouth reconstruction utilizes anesthesia to ensure the patient doesn’t feel anything during the procedure. Most of our patients elect to be IV sedated by experienced anesthesiologists we bring to our office. You go to sleep, and wake up after the work is all done! There may be some discomfort during recovery, but through the use of carefully prescribed pain medication any resulting pain can be effectively managed.
